One of the things that I come by a lot, is the fact that there is a genuine misunderstanding of what is and is not permissible in order to have a potentially victorious exorcism. I am sure that most people may know that there are people throughout the world that offer up exorcisms, and while this may exist in some forms of Christianity, in the main sect of said religion, Roman Catholicism, having a Priest perform an exorcism without the express and clear permission from a Bishop is expressly forbidden. There are reasons for this, one of those reasons mainly being that in Europe, during the 1600’s at the height of the witchcraze, there were many, many zealots who were going around, creating their own types of exorcism rituals, and in far more cases than anyone cares to admit, the end result was not spiritual liberation, as would be expected or hoped for. The end result often turned out to be death. (more…)

One of the founding fathers of psycho-analytical psychology, Carl Jung, coined the concept of archetypes, subconscious concepts universally ingrained in the human psyche that embody a deeper part of our intelligence. Among the most well known of these is what’s called the Shadow Archetype, the living embodiment of the darkness within and without every heart, the part that acts with no restraint but in pure indulgent consumption. Jung said that the Shadow was what made man afraid of the dark in such a primeval way. But any child can attest that it is not the dark desires within themselves that wakes in them such a stirring fear when the world is without light, but rather that which dwells in the darkness. That their fear is real, and rational, and accurate, all because of what they feel and know watches and hunts them In the dark, living off of their life-force and growing stronger as time  and emotion – is spent through the every day rigors of life. Those who have experienced this feeling of not being alone in an empty room, knowing that once the light is extinguished, a whole new level of horrors await them in the darkness that is to be. It is the cause for a fear of the dark, and with good reason. (more…)

I was actually recently asked on the US social networking site how I came to be involved/interested in this particular field, so I figured that I would update anyone who was curious with a post about that. It will try not to be too long or too drawn out, but here we go.

I am actually an author, but if you read my bio in the “About Your Author” section, I go into the type of person that I am, and the type of life that I have lived. I have experienced and done a ton of stuff in which most people don’t seem to think would be a big deal. I completely understand and respect that there are many, many people who don’t believe that these things exist. Unfortunately, I am often not granted that same respect in return, though I have accepted that a long time ago.

Today’s quote comes from Ed Warren, esteemed demonologist and late husband to the clairvoyant Lorraine Warren of “Amityville Horror” and “Paranormal State” notoriety.

“The phenomena are there, really there! That’s why I say, either you know or you don’t know spirit phenomena exist. If you don’t know, go investigate the findings yourself, but don’t tell me you don’t believe in spirits. Because I’ll prove them to you in fact, I’ll show you things that go on in this world that you wouldn’t believe could happen!”

Recently, I had been updating some information in the “About Your Author” section, and some random topics came up, which included the fact that I have a paranoia of being around mirrors. I say “paranoia” because it is not the same as a phobia. I do not have the same symptoms which are revealed when a person has a phobia. I don’t suffer from paralyzing fear or panic attacks when being near a reflective surface, but I do however, have an extreme discomfort due to the fact that I know that on the other side of the glass, there is something not of this world watching me. So, for starters, I am going to define and explain what a phobia of mirrors actually is, and what symptoms and troubles it presents. Then, I will go into detail about my own experiences. Overall, this is a circumstance that affects thousands of people every year on a constant basis. It is not something to joke about, nor is any phobia, because to the person experiencing these things, it is absolute terror and a constant hindrance in finding any peace within life. Some may crack jokes, or tease people who suffer from these conditions, so all I ask is that like all of my articles, you read seriously and approach the topic with an open mind. Obviously, I have some beliefs that are completely out there and not many people would share these opinions. I can respect that, and only ask that the severity of these topics be addressed with that same respect. So, with that being said, let’s embark on this intellectual journey. (more…)

For many hundreds of years, iron has been believed to be a substance that repels most of if not all of the supernatural entities of most of the world. A quick search on the internet can reveal some of the reasons behind this, so I will do my best to compile most of them here. If anyone wants to point me to any additional source material, be my guest, I’ll read anything.

Human blood has a very distinct smell which can often times be instantly categorized as iron. But back in the day, people did not know that blood contained elements of iron in it, so they simply equated iron to lifeforce. Being that iron is a mineral buried within the earth, once it was uncovered that you could obtain iron not only from meteorites, but deep within the earth, certain cultures regarded iron as the lifeforce of the earth. It was regarded as a magical substance because it could withstand both the elements of fire and a deep freeze of the cold, and because it was still harder than most if not all metals at the time.
