IMG_1084.JPGThis isn’t going to be one of my normal long-winded, research-laden posts. This is just a quick link to a story that I found interesting which deals in the topic of demonology and/or exorcism. Although I do not agree with the methods that the content provider used in order to record the video in the first place, it gives a basic understanding, visually, to what type of environment you could potentially see during a legitimate exorcism.

Now, I don’t normally do this, but this application tickled my fancy, and I thought it deserved a spot on DC. It’s not secret that I am a blogger, who also write for a rather popular iPhone website, so I usually have my eyes peeled for any applications that will pique my interest, and today, my two worlds collided. Paramount Studios, in celebration for the release of their new Horror/Thriller movie “The Devil Inside“, starring Fernanda Andrade and Simon Quarterman and directed by William Brent Bell has released an application to help you determine whether or not you are possessed by a diabolical spirit. One of the things that I come by a lot, is the fact that there is a genuine misunderstanding of what is and is not permissible in order to have a potentially victorious exorcism. I am sure that most people may know that there are people throughout the world that offer up exorcisms, and while this may exist in some forms of Christianity, in the main sect of said religion, Roman Catholicism, having a Priest perform an exorcism without the express and clear permission from a Bishop is expressly forbidden. There are reasons for this, one of those reasons mainly being that in Europe, during the 1600’s at the height of the witchcraze, there were many, many zealots who were going around, creating their own types of exorcism rituals, and in far more cases than anyone cares to admit, the end result was not spiritual liberation, as would be expected or hoped for. The end result often turned out to be death. (more…)

The first thing that you should know is that this article is 100% serious, and very, very real. This is not a GAG article, or a joke post. I am not going for humor here either. This is real, serious, and for a passion project that I am currently working on. I’m not trying to solicit anything, just trying to find assistance, so if it comes across that way, then I apologize. Recently, I have been spending some time on a rather famous paranormal forum based on the East Coast in the United States, and I have seen that while there are many, many people who are interested in the topics my blog seems to cover, and these people are seemingly well versed, there are also masses upon masses of people who  do not have this information and are simply looking for answers. So the point of this post is not going to be to give all of your answers, but I will be directing this heading to be specifically about what some of the symptoms of diabolical possession are, while at the same time covering virtually all basic aspects of diabolical possession, and what to look for.  (more…)

Surprisingly enough, the story of Anna Ecklund is not an easy one to come by, especially since it is considered the most famous exorcism story in the United States. There are different, varying accounts to the whole thing, and very few books have been published about it. One of these books, however, is entitled Begone Satan!, and was written by Father Carl Vogl approximately 80 years ago or so. It was translated into English by Rev. Celestine Kapsner, and published in approximately 1973. The history of this “book” is that it was originally a very thick pamphlet that was distributed amongst seminaries in the United States to familiarize priests with the destructive powers of the devil through the process of possession, but in its book form, its length varies. In the year 1973 anno domini, there was a case of possession and eventual exorcism so extreme that it left an entire country at odds with the topic of religious fanaticism and/or demonic possession. Fresh off the heels of “The Exorcist” being released, a real-life case of diabolical possession occurred, in which afterwards, both the parents of the possessed and the priests who exorcised her were brought to trial – and found guilty. This is the story of a girl named Anneliese Michel, otherwise known as Americans as the true inspiration for the movie “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”, and in one rare case, Hollywood didn’t do enough to sensationalize this story. They actually left too much out of the movie. WARNING: Included in this article are real photos of Anneliese Michel, and actual audio taken by the priests during the exorcism. These are disturbing and shocking images/sounds, proceed with caution. You have been warned. (more…)
