Djinn SigilWithin my own research into the world of the paranormal, I began to start digging into anything I could to find out details in regards to malevolent hauntings and/or certain spirits. And at first, myself being Roman Catholic, obviously began to look inwards to my own religion for answers, but unfortunately, the topic of demonology pre-dates even my religion. So, my answer, it seemed, was to begin digging into other faith systems. I began to start studying the Hebrew religion of Judaism, and as you could imagine, that took up quite a lot of my time. Then, however, I came across something that made me take a step back, and reassess some patterns of thoughts that I had been forming.

This article is going to be a special one, because it is going to contain contributions from people who are more familiar with certain matters of faith than I am. They are not authors for the site, but simply people, both of which who choose to remain anonymous, who either have insight or personal experience in regards to this topic.

We are going to go in-depth the “demons” of the Islamic faith, the Djinn.

Sometimes, though not commonly, you come across a story that just grips you from the second that you read it, and intrigues you long after you’ve finished it. This article is going to be one of those. This was not written for the upcoming ‘Diabolical Confusions: Volume 1’ book, but rather, due to it’s original nature of spawning from the internet, it seemed a fitting place to be drafted specifically for the website. Some fans wanted some new and unique content, and at the time of writing, I couldn’t think of a better story. It fits right in here, as it contains elements of a haunting, malevolent spirits, paranormal activity, highly religious undertones, an accursed item, and lots and lots of witness verification. As a matter of fact, this story is so damned intriguing that it is the basis for Sam Raimi’s newest horror project, “The Possession”, released in August, 2012, starring Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. This story has been around for a while – 2004 and earlier, actually – and even I remember coming across this listing “back in the day”. Only recently did I discover that it was the inspiration for the above-referenced movie, and here is everything I know about it. (more…)

Editor’s Note: As we all know, explaining matters of faith to someone who doesn’t know what that is can be a bit difficult. This may apply to a child, someone who isn’t familiar with religion, or flat out just someone who never invested themselves deeply enough to learn. This article idea came up because I had recalled a brief instance in the past where myself (LVCIFER) and ANIMUS were discussing the fall of Lucifer from Heaven, and he had mentioned, fleetingly, the theft of a feather from the wings of the Archangel Michael. For some reason, months after this conversation, I approached ANIMUS and asked him to go more in depth about it, and I was presented with something infinitely better, that I thought deserved a spot on DiabolicalConfusions: a small, short little bedtime story, written for a child, explaining briefly the War in Heaven, the Fall of Lucifer, and the Creation of Demons. Now, obviously, with a little bit of modification, some fresh paint, and some quick research, I was able to adapt this to fit quite nicely here. But, before I do that, as usual, I have some “pre-reading”, or “homework”, if you will. There are some entities that are mentioned in this story, and before continuing to read, please feel free to download and scan through the PDFs I have assembled, so that you can obtain some type of idea in regards to who these entities are, and what they are capable of. They have been compiled from a short selection of books that I felt were best suited to the task, and all irrelevant information has been redacted. The list of downloadable PDF’s can be found here, divided specifically by entity, in alphabetical order:

Now, without any further distraction, please take a moment or two to learn about the War in Heaven and the Fall of Lucifer, through the eyes of a child.

One of the founding fathers of psycho-analytical psychology, Carl Jung, coined the concept of archetypes, subconscious concepts universally ingrained in the human psyche that embody a deeper part of our intelligence. Among the most well known of these is what’s called the Shadow Archetype, the living embodiment of the darkness within and without every heart, the part that acts with no restraint but in pure indulgent consumption. Jung said that the Shadow was what made man afraid of the dark in such a primeval way. But any child can attest that it is not the dark desires within themselves that wakes in them such a stirring fear when the world is without light, but rather that which dwells in the darkness. That their fear is real, and rational, and accurate, all because of what they feel and know watches and hunts them In the dark, living off of their life-force and growing stronger as time  and emotion – is spent through the every day rigors of life. Those who have experienced this feeling of not being alone in an empty room, knowing that once the light is extinguished, a whole new level of horrors await them in the darkness that is to be. It is the cause for a fear of the dark, and with good reason. (more…)

In the year 1973 anno domini, there was a case of possession and eventual exorcism so extreme that it left an entire country at odds with the topic of religious fanaticism and/or demonic possession. Fresh off the heels of “The Exorcist” being released, a real-life case of diabolical possession occurred, in which afterwards, both the parents of the possessed and the priests who exorcised her were brought to trial – and found guilty. This is the story of a girl named Anneliese Michel, otherwise known as Americans as the true inspiration for the movie “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”, and in one rare case, Hollywood didn’t do enough to sensationalize this story. They actually left too much out of the movie. WARNING: Included in this article are real photos of Anneliese Michel, and actual audio taken by the priests during the exorcism. These are disturbing and shocking images/sounds, proceed with caution. You have been warned. (more…)

I was actually recently asked on the US social networking site twitter.com how I came to be involved/interested in this particular field, so I figured that I would update anyone who was curious with a post about that. It will try not to be too long or too drawn out, but here we go.

I am actually an author, but if you read my bio in the “About Your Author” section, I go into the type of person that I am, and the type of life that I have lived. I have experienced and done a ton of stuff in which most people don’t seem to think would be a big deal. I completely understand and respect that there are many, many people who don’t believe that these things exist. Unfortunately, I am often not granted that same respect in return, though I have accepted that a long time ago.

Today’s quote comes from Ed Warren, esteemed demonologist and late husband to the clairvoyant Lorraine Warren of “Amityville Horror” and “Paranormal State” notoriety.

“The phenomena are there, really there! That’s why I say, either you know or you don’t know spirit phenomena exist. If you don’t know, go investigate the findings yourself, but don’t tell me you don’t believe in spirits. Because I’ll prove them to you in fact, I’ll show you things that go on in this world that you wouldn’t believe could happen!”
